How do I know if a duct cleaning quote is fair?
Check four things: the price sits in the honest market range (national average ~$389; NADCA-standard whole-system jobs often $450–$1,000), the scope covers both supply and return sides plus trunk lines, add-ons are itemized in writing, and the company can prove its work with before/after photos. If any of those are missing, get a second read before you sign.
What should a duct cleaning quote include?
The vent and return count, whether the whole system (both sides plus trunks) is covered, the equipment used, any add-ons priced separately, and a total that's committed in writing. Vague 'whole house' language with no counts is how surprise fees happen.
What if the other company's quote is actually a good deal?
